awanderingcoyoteI'm hoping to kudos and comment on everything by the end of the week, but we're in EOM for work now so it might take a little longer!
Speaking of EOM even though today is a holiday for the US I still had to work, but thankfully it wasn't the whole day. Now the kiddo and I are relaxing.
So last year for Halloween the kiddo and I did Eda the Owl Lady and Hunter the Golden Guard. This year we've decided to do season 3 versions of Eda the Owl Lady and Hunter. So the kiddo will Hunter on the end credits, where he looks to be a palisman carver and I'm going to do Eda the Owl Lady as the Headmaster of the school :D
Last year I hand sewed our costumes and this year I decided to invest in a sewing machine. I used to sew on a sewing machine eons and eons ago XD And this year I was like: You know what! I'm going to splurge and buy myself a sewing machine and relearn how to use it. So I found a gently used machine for under a hundred dollars and this weekend I've been making so many zippered pouches! They're about the size of your standard cloth pencil cases and the first two were not great, but now I'm getting back into it! My seams are looking much straighter XD
I've already started to research a few patterns for our costume so I'm excited to hopefully get good enough again to create both of our costumes with the sewing machine.
I also want to start taking in some of my clothes too. I've been trying to get healthier and now all my clothes are fitting loose and I don't have the budge to buy new clothes, and besides that, all my old clothes are in good conditions!! I'm excited to take in my shirts and the waists of my pants.
I'm almost finished with a ChuGuo fic that was inspired while I was drawing my 520 wings gift. It'll be a winged AU where GCC gets wings :D I actually have two versions of it, but I'm probably going to go with the second one cause it's just flowing better. Hopefully I'll be able to get it out soon but with EOM it may not be until next week.
Speaking of 520 I need to post my drawings too!

Date: 2024-05-27 07:31 pm (UTC)Yeah, same here, I didn't get nearly as far into the collection as I wanted over the weekend, and now it's end-of-month crunchtime. So much goodness still awaits! I'll get there! But argh, why can't there be more free time and less work ...

Oh wow, that's awesome about the sewing -- go you! I borrowed my sister's sewing machine while she was moving house, and I'm almost always too hasty and end up with everything crooked and uneven, but I'm working on it! I successfully made a hot water bottle cover over the weekend! *dances*

It's awesome that you're going to sew your Halloween costumes this year!! My mom bought me a sewing machine a while back as a birthday present, but my skills don't really go beyond hemming. (On the upside, the machine more than paid for itself in hemming pants over the years - I am too short even for short length haha.)
Also WINGED GCC!!!!! Yes, excellent, very good!!!

AND YES. WINGED GCC! I was stuck on a plot point but last night right before I fell asleep I figured out how to move it along and I remembered it this morning!!! SO super excited to add that in and hopefully wrap it and post :D
I AM SO EXCITED for the Guardian Bingo Prompt fest TOO SQUEE SQUEEEEEE! I cannot wait :D
